 Welcome to the

Puget Sound Business Travel Association

The Puget Sound Business Travel Association (PSBTA) is the collective voice of business travel management in Western Washington. We provide a forum for the constructive exchange of information, education, and ideas among members. We are dedicated to enhancing the educational and professional advancement of the travel industry and our members.

Our Membership... PSBTA members include 175 Washington business leaders who are responsible for supplying and purchasing travel related services. The annual travel expenditure of these companies exceeds $1.5 billion dollars. Direct members procure or manage business travel services for their corporation. Allied members provide travel services or products to direct members.

a message from our president

Dear Members,

Greetings to all of you.  I am hoping you have enjoyed your summer and have taken the opportunity to appreciate the Pacific Northwest.  It’s why we live here!!  Sadly, summer is coming to end and as kids go back to school and the days get shorter, reality sets in.  Having said that….the days are bright for PSBTARecently, your Board has been focusing their efforts on finding ways to add value to your membership, and what we continually hear is how important education is to our members.  Driving educational opportunities to our members is the primary focus at PSBTA, and we have two incredible events coming up that I want to make special mention, as they should not be missed!

The September 16 meeting will be in conjunction with our semi-annual Direct Forum, led by Karen Beauchamp, travel manager for Symetra.  The Board will personally be calling all direct members to encourage their attendance.   For both Allied and Direct members attending, we have a bonus for you.  We will be offering two unique and informative speakers during the luncheon:

Gilad Berenstein, CEO & Founder at Utrip
See what is happening in travel technology today! Discover the world your way. Utrip brings together the best in artificial intelligence and human experience to make it easy for travelers to create their perfect trip.

Patrick Smyton, Senior Director of Convention Strategy-Visit Seattle
Patrick will share highlights from the Visit Seattle Annual Hotel Symposium. He will discuss defining short-term trends and share information on potential demand in our market.

Our October 21 meeting at Hyatt Olive 8 will be a first ever, joint event with BTN Group in conjunction with their Seattle Symposium.  This is a very rare opportunity to partner with our industry’s leading media group.   The monthly meeting will be a breakfast beginning with registration and a networking session at 7:30.  The presentation and breakfast will take place from 8-9:15AM.  At that time, the general PSBTA meeting will adjourn, however all PSBTA direct members are invited to stay for the day.  Another value add….

The BTN Group would like to extend Puget Sound Business Travel Association direct members complimentary registration to the intensive one-day, buyer-only Business Travel Trends & Forecasts Conference.

  •     Hear about buyer efforts to make the most of hotel and airline negotiations
  •     Benefit from experiences of best travel practitioners as you participate in an interactive discussion of       issues of primary concern to travel buyers
  •     Gain insight into making the most of travel management services
  •     Understand the limitations and promise of traveler tracking tools

For PSBTA Direct members wishing to attend the all day conference, please visit www.btngroupconferences.com/seattle and register as a Corporate Travel Buyer Attendee and then use the payment code PSBTA15 so that you are not charged the fee.
