To whom much is given, much is required
Journeying through the baseball life and beyond.
Every year during the holidays, we take a step back from the travel industry and invite speakers who give us insight on different aspects of life. Dan Wilson is that person. When he retired from Major League Baseball in 2005, former Seattle Mariner Dan Wilson was one of the best defensive catchers in major league history and future Mariners Hall of Fame inductee. During his 12 years with the Mariners, he earned kudos on the field for his performance and off for his philanthropic activities. He will take us through his journey of baseball with the Mariners and events outside of his career. Come join us to meet a legendary baseball player from our hometown and listen to his personal insight.
Dan Wilson spent nearly 13 years as a catcher in the Major Leagues, 12 here with the Seattle Mariners. Although he enjoyed success as a part of many great Mariner teams, Dan and his wife Annie have been involved with several other “teams” here in the Seattle community. Dan and Annie have been long time supporters of First Place School, a school for children in transition. Annie served as volunteer in the classroom as well as board member while Dan spent time in classrooms and as Santa Claus at Christmas. Annie and Dan have also been involved with Seattle Children’s Hospital and with All God’s Children International, the adoption and relief agency in Portland, OR they used for two of their children. Annie and Dan have lived in Seattle in the Montlake community with their 4 children for the last 18 years.
